Abu Mahjoob Restaurant

Abu Mahjoob is the oldest restaurant in the Jabal Luweibdeh (or Jabal Al-Weibdeh) neighbourhood of Amman.

Established in 1961, the restaurant is still run by the same family, offering the traditional falafel, hummus, foul, tea and the memories of the '60s and '70s.

The prices at Abu Mahjoob restaurant are still reasonable, a plate of hummus, falafel and tea costs 1 JD (in 2010).

"Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
