The Aqaba House proudly presents its second exposition. Tareq Dajani made some fantastic pictures, while sitting in the open door of a plane that took off from Aqaba Airport and flew him over Wadi Rum. The result will be on display from the 16th of March onwards in The Aqaba House.

The D2R (Dead-To-Red) Relay Race is arriving to Aqaba on Friday, 5 March 2010
Runners and cyclists on the Dead-2-Red relay race are supposed to arrive to Aqaba Friday afternoon from Wadi Araba direction.
The race will finish at the Radisson BLU hotel in Tala Bay at 16.00h pm.

New Currency Declaration Rules upon arrival to Jordan
As of March 1st 2010, Jordanian citizens and foreigners arriving to Jordan must fill out a currency declaration form.
Arrivals carrying more than 15,000 JD in cash, financial papers, jewellery or other valuables will have to declare their possessions.

Petra Archaeological Park authorities evacuated 150 tourists after heavy rain caused a huge flow of water into the Siq from the surrounding high mountains.
Weather forecast
The effects of the unstable weather conditions are expected to continue until Thursday night with cold and rainy weather, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).
Today, it will be cold and cloudy with rainfall at times, especially in the northern and central parts of the country. Temperatures will range between a high of 12°C and a low of 7°C at night in Amman, while winds will be southwesterly and moderate, a weather forecaster at the department said.
A further drop in mercury levels is forecast on Wednesday, when the weather will be cold and cloudy with rain expected in the afternoon hours in the northern and central parts of the country. Temperatures will range between a maximum of 11°C and a minimum of 6°C, with brisk, southwesterly winds.
On Thursday, according to the weather forecast, “it will remain cold, cloudy and rainy. Temperatures during the day will reach 11°C and 6°C at night-time, while winds will be brisk and northwesterly, turning to southwesterly at night”.
The JMD said the unstable conditions are expected to taper off Thursday night and the weather will gradually stabilise.

Jordan has secured the second place among Arab countries in the 2010 Quality of Life Index which is published by International Living Magazine.
According to the 194-country scale, Jordan is the best place to live after Tunisia in the Arab world in terms of cost of living, leisure, culture, economy, environment, freedom, health, infrastructure, climate, risk and safety.
By sub-headings, the Kingdom achieved the highest score among Arab countries in terms of health; 80 points out of 100.
The report also ranked the Kingdom among the safest countries in the region with a total score of 71 points out of 100.
France ranked first for a fifth consecutive year, followed by Australia, Switzerland, Germany and New Zealand, Luxembourg, US, Belgium, Canada and Italy.

Enforced Rest in Aqaba: Viva Palestina Aid Convoy Stuck in the Jordanian Port City
Gaza-bound Viva Palestina Humanitarian Aid Convoy led by British MP George Galloway has been stuck in Aqaba for several days now since Egypt has denied access through its Nuweiba port.
Over 200 vehicles and 500 volunteers from all over the world are waiting to board the Aqaba-Nuweiba ferry.
Numerours Aqaba businesses, hotels and restaurants, are offering free accommodation and food for the volunteers as their way of support.
Update:
The convoy is now on its way to the Syrian port city of Latakia on the Mediterranean Sea, from where they will take the ferry to El Arish in Egypt.
Organizers of "Viva Palestina" convoy Tuesday thanked the Jordanian leadership, government and people for their hospitality and support since their arrival into the Kingdom on their way to Gaza via Nuweiba.
Official Spokesman of the convoy Zaher Berawi told Petra that the leadership and members of the convoy thank all Jordanian people for their hospitality and facilitations, adding that their residence in Jordan would always be remembered.
