Club Murjan and Seastar

Club Murjan and Seastar

Seastar - A PADI Dive centre for 17 years and a PADI 5* IDC for 7 years - has been offering diving courses and recreational diving since 1988.

We are based at Club Murjan, within the Marine Reserve of Aqaba, a perfect location to spend the day with direct access to the beach and the reefs. It makes it an ideal location for divers and non-divers to enjoy their holiday time together.

Aqaba's reefs are easily accessed direct from the shore: NO long surface swims, NO clambering over rocks, just walk straight off the beach and the reef starts immediately. Many dives sites are also good for snorkelling too, so non-divers can come along with the divers and enjoy the sites from the surface.

Dive Courses start from 8 years old with Bubblemaker, through to Discover Scuba and Open water to Instructor level.. All courses are available at any time to suit your holiday itinerary.

Get a Head Start.. with the PADI E-Learning programme, complete your theory at home and then just have the fun of the dives in Aqaba.

Seastar offers diving in a safe and secure environment. The centre is fully insured by DAN (Divers Alert Network), we can also offer divers immediate personal diving accident cover on a day to day basis through the UK.

Interested in accommodation and diving package? Our partner agency can attend to all the other details of your holiday itinerary, from Meet and Assist on arrival to hotel accommodation throughout Jordan, Car rental and excursions. Everything you need "under one roof".

Discover Scuba at 12 yrs
by: Charlotte

I can't thank you enough for letting me do those two amazing dives. I saw so many amazing fish that I didn't even know existed and it is such an amazing experience to have had, especially at my age!! Please could you also say thank you to the lovely man who took me down (sorry, his name has completely slipped my mind) and for the time he gave up to give me the most amazing experience of my life.

Thank you ever so much once again and I hope to see you again soon,

Better than Egypt
by: Diver Dudes

Have just returned from diving Aqaba in Jordan. We chose this dive company as they are one of the longest established. In fact, I think they are the longest running company there so we figured they would know the reefs. And, no surprise - they did!

The other reason we went was to avoid all the crowds further south into Egyptian waters and that worked well too. In a week we only saw one other group of divers on the same site as us which was just bliss.

The diving here is similar to Egypt - same types of coral and fish - and just as pretty in most areas, but what makes the underwater side different is you see fish and no divers. OK, I mentioned that already, but this means you can also stop and take a photo, sit and watch the life and not feel hassled to move on. Because of this we were also seeing far more of the critter type things than in Egypt. We even saw Pegasus sea moths and rare nudibranchs we have only ever seen in Asia. There is less big, pelagic life, but we still saw turtles on most dives.

Jordan isn't cheap - compared to Egypt - but we would pay the extra to get a whole dive site to ourselves any day!

SIMPLY THE BEST IN THE MIDDLE EAST
by: KEN (CANADA)

There is no doubt that diving with the Seastar Watersports staff will be the best diving you ever do. They are simply the friendliest dive people I know. They ensure that your dive experience is specifically catered to what you want. With so many shore dives available you will never get bored no matter how many times you go back. I've been there at least 10 times having just completed my Rescue Diver Course there and of course I am going back to do my Master Scuba Diver training. Just inches into the water and you will find yourself surrounded by the most abundant and colorful sea life imaginable. If you get to the Middle East, you have to take the time to dive here!

Always good to dive with and more
by: Albert & Ana

We have been twice with them and we enjoy a lot. The center is very good, very friendly people and very nice dive sites, fantastic for some days of relax with scuba. Don't miss it if you come to aqaba. They have helped us in all we have need, looking for transportation to go and come back from the city, other places to visit in the country, and obviously with the scuba. Very nice indeed.

Learn to Dive Family Friendly
by: Anne -Kuwait

Just returned from a 5 day Aqaba trip where my husband and 2 children all qualified for Open Water with the lovely Thaer as our instructor. He has the patience of a saint with moody teenagers. Suzy and Lana were friendly and helpful too. The Club Murjan is nicely situated a 10 min drive from Aqaba centre and well placed for other dive sites. At Easter the club was not too busy with day trippers and other divers so there was always a sunlounger and tables to sit at. Food is reasonable and the beers appreciated. There is a daily bus service but we had a hire car which meant we could stay on to use facilities after the dive staff had left for the day.

The staff at Seastar are not only experienced but have an appreciation for maintenace and respect of the sights and sea life. The dive masters are always excited to share the things the Red Sea has to offer and always greet us with enthusiasm. The people of Jordan are kind, generous and welcoming and we are spoiled by the experience.

Relaxed Location and diving
by: Stuart

I have visited Seastar several times over the past two years while I was based in Jordan. I arrived as an Advanced Open Water Diver and decided to do my Rescue Diver certificate there. The instructors were professional and fun, and it was a fantastic place to learn. I went on to do my Divemaster and Instructor training with Seastar. The team has been highly supportive and dedicated a lot of time to training me and helping me gain valuable dive experience.

It's a relaxing location with a swimming pool and loungers. I really enjoyed just sitting in the sun eating ice cream there!

The club itself is next to a reef which means that you can literally walk into the sea from the club and experience great diving. The reef is amazing and teeming with wildlife. It's an ideal location for diving or snorkelling. I've done loads of dives on the reef and seen something next every time.

The club is also a few minutes up the road from the Cedar Pride (a shallow ship wreck) and 'the tank' (a sunken anti-aircraft vehicle).

Frog Fish
by: Kalevi

I was very impressed with the diving at Aqaba. Great dive guides. Big thanks to Lana for pointing out all the marine life and....all the frog fish! Though it wasn't difficult as we saw frog fish on 50% of our dives!!!

Laid Back diving
by: Taisto (Sweden)

Returned recently from my second trip to Aqaba and SeaStar diving club. I reallly like the relaxed and hassle-free atmosphere at Seastar and Club Murjan. The staff is very professional and firendly. Neither is there no crowds of divers in the water and the reefs are very close to beach.

Repeat client
by: Andy UK

From the very first contact through to the final journey back from the dive centre you are made to feel welcome and a part of the SeaStar family. All the dives are shore-based and only a short drive in the centre transport from the Club Murjan where all the dive equipment is stored and maintained. There are many dive sites to choose from, including a wreck, with a great variety of sea life and corals to visit. And when the diving is done the Club Murjan offers food and refreshments as well as a pool to relax by.

AMMAN AIRPORT TRANSFER

Amman Airport Private Arrival/Departure Transfer

Reviewed by Donald G, May 2011:

"Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
