Aqaba Glass BoatSee what's under the sea without getting wet.Walking around the Palm Beach (Al-Ghandoor or Al-Hafayer area) or the Big Flag at the Great Arab Revolt Plaza you will surely be offered a cruise on a glass Bottom boat.
PricesAccording to the Aqaba Glass Boat Society's billboard, a 30-minute Tour between the Hotels Area (in front of Movenpick, Kempinski and InterContinental) and the Palm Beach costs 20 JD per boat. The 1-hour Picnic, including the Hotels Area, Palm Beach and the Shipwreck with the sunken Army Tank costs 35 JD per boat. The 3-hour Adventure takes you to the Aqaba Marine Park on South Beach where you can see the coral reefs and many fish species. Maximum capacity of the boats is 10 persons. According to the Glass Boat Society, all of their boats are licensed and insurance covered and the boat drivers are all certified. Safety and First Aid equipment is available onboard. My experience is that some boat drivers are flexible with their prices so may try to negotiate. Is it worth taking a ride?
To be honest, for me glass boating was a bit of a disappointment. The actual glass surface of the bottom was very small and not very clean so we didn't really see much. What you can see through the glass is nothing compared to the experience of snorkeling. Also, if you get into the boat in Aqaba, the 30-minutes and the one-hour will not take you to the South Beach, where the real beautiful coral reefs are. You may see some fish and small corals in front of the Royal Yacht Club and Al-Ghandoor Beach (Palm Beach) but nothing spectacular.
All Day Snorkeling Cruise with Glass BoatIf you are with a group, you can hire a glass bottom boat for a whole day. Some boat operators offer this service with BBQ lunch on the beach.
This way you can cruise all day at the coral reefs, stop at several dive locations for snorkeling and swimming get a BBQ lunch, ususally grilled chicken or fish with salad, and you will be back to Aqaba by the sunset.

AMMAN AIRPORT TRANSFER
Amman Airport Private Arrival/Departure Transfer
Reviewed by Donald G, May 2011: "Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
