Aqaba to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia
We (my husband and I) are planning a trip to Jordan, flying into Amman, renting a car and then driving down to Aqaba (and visiting various places en route - Dead Sea, Madaba, Petra etc).
We would then like to get a bus/taxi from Aqaba (leaving the rental car in Aqaba) across the Saudi border to Tabuk, where we will get a flight to Riyadh. I am currently working in Riyadh and my husband will have a visitor's visa to get into Saudi.
I have looked at Saptco, Jett buses and Trust buses and none of them seem to offer a route from Aqaba to Tabuk (we would have to go all the way back up to Amman, just to get on the bus and drive all the way back down again and we don't have the time to do that!).
I would be very grateful for your advice.
Answer: The white service taxis that run between Aqaba and Saudi cities (Tabuk being one of them) are gathering near the Aqaba Castle, which is located at the Great Flagpole of Aqaba.
You can just get there and negotiate with the drivers.
However, if you wish to pre-arrange your trip, I recommend you to contact my brother-in-law, Rajab, who also runs a service taxi between Aqaba and Saudi Arabia. You can find his contact details by clicking here.
