Aqaba Visa for cruise ship passengers

Question: I want to make sure I understand your comment regarding the visa for entering Jordan through Aqaba.

If one is arriving and departing on a cruise ship the same day, with intentions of touring as far as Petra and Wadi Rum for a day, is a visa required?

Answer:
Everybody who enters Jordan must have a visa - either get it on arrival or in advance from a Jordanian consulate.

Cruise ship passengers are granted the visa free of charge upon arrival to Aqaba port, unless their nationality is on the list of "restricted nationslities" in which case they have to obtained the visa in advance.

Restricted nationalities are mainly African and Asian countries. You can see their list here .
