Egypt Visa Information


Travellers often choose to continue their trip to Egypt from Aqaba, or at least visit the Sinai peninsula.

Egypt Visa is easy to get for most nationals providing they have a passport with at least 6 months of validity left.

Pre-arrival visa

Citizens of the following countries should have a pre-arrival visa:

Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Chechnya, Croatia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Lebanon, Macao, Macedonia, Moldavia, Montenegro, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, The Philippines, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sri-Lanka, Tadzhikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and All African countries except South Africa.

The pre-arrival visa can be obtained from the Egyptian Diplomatic and Consular Missions abroad.

Visa at the border

Most tourists and visitors to Egypt can obtain an entry visa at any of the international airports or ports of entry.

Tourist Visa is usually valid for a period up to 3 months and granted on either single or multiple entry basis.

If your purpose of stay in Egypt is not tourism but rather work or study, you must obtain an Entry Visa firts and complete the residence procedure in Egypt.

Free Sinai Visa

The 14 days Sinai Visa can be obtained free of charge at the Taba border, Taba and Sharm el Sheikh airports and Nuweiba Port.

This visa is limited to the coastal area between Taba and Sharm el Sheikh, including St. Catherine Nature Protectorate and Monastery, but not valid to Ras Muhammad and Wadi Feiran.
