Enter Jordan by Aquaba Bridge, exit by Sheik Hussein bridge
by mb
I am going to visit Jordan for 5/6 nights in Sept 2012, returning to Tel-Aviv. How much are the Jordan entry/exit fees and do I need any papers in advance for border crossings? Answer: Yes, you can enter via Aqaba and leave Jordan via Sheikh Hussein Bridge. FYI, there is no "bridge" between Eilat and Aqaba, it's a simple land crossing with a cca. 200m "no-mans-land" in between the two checkpoints. You have to walk this distance. If you enter at Aqaba, you will be granted a free ASEZ (Aqaba Special Economic Zone) visa which is valid for all of Jordan. No special papers needed, only your passport valid for at least six months. At the moment Departure or Exit Tax is 5 JD for foreign nationals at the land border crossings - but it may increase by September 2012 so please reconfirm it next year.

AMMAN AIRPORT TRANSFER
Amman Airport Private Arrival/Departure Transfer
Reviewed by Donald G, May 2011: "Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
