If you are in Sinai Egypt, you can choose to take the ferry to Aqaba from the port of Nuweiba.
Daily ferries are operated by AB Maritime, Jordan.
Make sure you arrive to the port at least 2-3 hours prior to the departure, especially if you haven't purchased your ferry ticket beforehand.
Experienced travellers suggest to spend the night before in one of the hotels in Nuweiba.
By doing that you don't have to spend half a day at the Nuweiba ferry station, instead, you can relax on the beach and head to the terminal when you see the ferry arriving from Jordan.
Sometimes it just runs hours behind schedule!
The Aqaba Ferry Station
The Passenger Station in Aqaba is apprx. 6 km south of the city, after the Container Terminal and the Marine Science Station. A taxi there costs around 3 JD.

Fast Ferry
The journey by the fast ferry to Aqaba takes 1 hour.
Departures:
- From Aqaba to Nuweiba: daily (except Saturday) at 12.00h.
- From Nuweiba to Aqaba: daily (except Saturday) at 15.30h.

- One-way economy class: 70 USD
- One-way first class: 90 USD
- Round economy class: 120 USD
- Round first class: 155 USD
Slow Ferry
The journey by the slow ferry to Aqaba takes 3 hours.
Departures:
- From Aqaba to Nuweiba: daily at 24.00h.
- From Nuweiba to Aqaba: daily at 14.00h.
Tickets:
- One-way economy class: 60 USD
- One-way first class: 65 USD
- Round economy class: 100 USD
- Round first class: 105 USD
Good To Know
These prices do not include departure taxes - JD 5 in Jordan and LE 50 in Egypt.
Children under 2 years travel free of charge, between 2 and 8 years of age they pay half price and above 8 years old pay full ticket price.
In Nuweiba you have to pay your ferry tickets in USD while in Aqaba both USD and JOD are accepted.
Both the fast and the slow ferry carry cars and buses too.
Delays happen due to bad weather or if the port is too busy.
The ferry can get extreemly crowded during holidays, especially before and after the days of Hajj - the main yearly pilgrimage to Mecca.
