Petra Marathon - 10 Sept 2011

Petra Marathon 2011 takes place on 10th September 2011 and is scheduled for an early 06:30h start to avoid too much running in the afternoon heat.

From the Visitors Centre all runners walk the 1.2 kilometers through the Siq to the start line in front of the Treasury. Full marathon and ultra half marathon starts together.

All runners who complete the marathon or ultra half marathon within the time limit will receive a medal.

Participants arriving from Europe or overseas can chose either 4 or 5 star accommodation on both Basic and Optional Packages offered by the organizer.

A special package available for citizens and residents of Middle East countries (Jordan, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Yemen), for details please contact the organizer.

"Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
