The Aqaba House
"Good living made sustainable"
Update: The Aqaba House has been closed since the 29th of August, 2010.
The Aqaba House is the first ecological building in the city, and now open as a guesthouse/bed & breakfast.
Located in the 9th district of the city, The House enjoys fantastic views over the Gulf of Aqaba, taking in Aqaba, Eilat and even Egypt from anyone of the three terraces, from the terrace on the top floor you can even enjoy the breathtaking mountainviews.
Lot's of new techniques are used in The House to make it as eco-friendly as possible.
The first measure was to have a look at the orientation of the building, but also the use of shading, the stunning garden (watered through a greywater-system, which re-uses the water being used in The House) and the isolation keep the heat outside and The House stays comfortably cool.
State of the art solar-cooling through an air-conditioning-system running on solar power is truly revolutionary and reduces electricity costs enormously.
Guesthouse - Bed & Breakfast
The House has 6 guest bedrooms. Simple, elegant furniture, ecologically custom made for The House, beautiful bathrooms, and local materials make a stay in The Aqaba House a memorable one.
We pride ourselves with our slogan:
Good living made sustainable - living the eco-friendly way can be highly comfortable!
The artworks in the living room, a project together with Jacaranda Images in Amman, add even more to the special atmosphere of The House.

Reviewed by Donald G, May 2011:
"Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
