Mohammad Hussein

My name is Mohammad Hussein and I organize tours in Wadi Rum. I am a Bedouin, born and raised in Wadi Rum so I know the area extensively.

If you are just looking for a warm bed and good food while you stay in Wadi Rum and want to venture off on your own, you are welcome. If you want a custom guided tour, I can help you with that too.

I do jeep tours, camel riding, hiking trips, and mountain climbing.

I have a camp within the protected area of Wadi Rum with private tents, toilets and shower facilities (with hot water!).
Most tours include one nights accomodation at the camp with dinner and breakfast.

We provide mattresses, pillows, and blankets in the camp, you do not need to bring sleeping bags.

My speciality is hiking and climbing, but jeep and camel tours are very popular.

Visitor from all ages are welcome. Children 6-12 are half price, children under 6 are free.

I speak Arabic and English, but have traveled and welcomed tourists from all over the world.

Please visit my website for a complete description of all the tours I offer: http://www.wadirumtrips.info

Feel free to call or email me with any questions or if you would like to make a reservation. I hope to welcome you to Wadi Rum soon!

Experience with Mohammad
by: Simon

We, a family of 5, booked Mohammed for tour nr 3 in Wadi Rum via his website: www.wadirumadventures.com . At the visitor center we were welcomed by his nephew who turned out to be our guide for the day, night and morning.

As our rental car was a Pajero, Mohammad gave us the choice to either go in the Pajero or join the nephew. We choose for our rental car. This turned out to be a good choice as the 3 Italians that joined the nephew in his car, not even a Toyota pickup with the seats in the back but a normal ‘closed’ 4WD, said that he didn’t explain a lot. Just the same as we heard when we stopped.

So, this guide is not recommendable if you want to find out a lot about Wadi Rum!

You can take them if you just want a cheap ride (30JD p.p. with own car) through Wadi Rum.

Sunset is a basic camp, although it has toilet and shower facilities, but it really smells in there.

Dining and breakfast is done in a bigger tent, where you get a meal served by a Sudanese cook. The quality is good, but the hygienic measures taken by the cook are doubtful. My wife saw him sneezing while preparing breakfast, he just removed the remains of the sneeze with his fingers and continued cooking without washing his hands...

Sleeping is done in tents, where you get a matras and a duvey. I doubt if these are ever going to be cleaned.

There are about 10 tents available.

I think you can find better quality 'accommodation' in Wadi Rum, but then you probably need to pay more...

AMMAN AIRPORT TRANSFER

Amman Airport Private Arrival/Departure Transfer

Reviewed by Donald G, May 2011:

"Driver and vehicle were very acceptable - and in light of the driving/vehicle conditions in Amman this was most welcome. The service is on the expensive side when compared with the local taxi service but, in my opinion, most worthwhile. The driver was welcoming and very helpful. Luggage handling was completely handled at both ends of the trip in a very professional manner. I would definitely use this service again."
